You are searching.

Searching for change, for relief from distress, for growth or for self-knowledge.  Perhaps you are trying to understand someone who is close to you; how you can be of help to them or how you can create a greater degree of harmony in your relationships and improve your communication. You are searching for Peace of Mind. And you are searching for a life of health and balance.

These changes are not always easy and you may approach these challenges with ambivalence, doubt or even hopelessness.  That is natural.

But I have been honored and privileged to watch the process of change unfold for so many people in my years in this profession, and to accompany them along their road toward self-discovery and accomplishments small and large.  I know that change is possible – even inevitable.

What kind of changes do you want to make?

About You...

About Me...

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 25 years of experience working with many different types of clients.

I received a B.A. in Psychology from UCLA, a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from UCSB, and completed my doctoral internship at UC Berkeley.  I created the Outpatient Eating Disorders Treatment Program for the Beverly Hills Medical Center, and later worked as the Director of Student Counseling at University of San Francisco.

I’ve worked with children, adolescents, adults and couples in the Psychiatry Department of Kaiser Permanente, Martinez, as well as in the Chemical Dependency program seeing individuals and groups in early and on-going recovery.

I have been committed to training new therapists by teaching graduate courses at USF and JFK University, and as the director of intern training at Kaiser and the Bay Area Psychotherapy Institute in Lafayette.  I have worked in private practice in Lafayette for the past 20 years.

About My Practice...

I work with adolescents, adults and couples.  My areas of specialization include working with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, OCD, relationship issues, trauma, eating disorders and addictions including sex addiction and spouses or family members of individuals with addiction issues.

My typical client is the farthest thing from “crazy”.  In fact I work with many bright, effective and accomplished people who are learning to recognize their own strengths, and to identify the ways they may be undermining their own self-confidence and effectiveness.
